About Samantha
I’m a landlocked beach girl! I grew up in South Florida & was raised for a good portion of my younger years by my mom. That bond is strong & beautiful to this day. My dad was an addict & his drugs of choice were women & alcohol. He would come & go from my life throughout the years as he struggled to find peace & purpose.
My middle school days were spent in a body brace/cast as a result of having scoliosis. That was difficult but it gave me a heart of compassion at an early age.
At 15, I found myself in an intense battle with anorexia which shifted to bulimia pretty quickly & would be a part of my life for awhile.
Things were about to get a whole lot better though…
I grew up going to church & learning about God. As a teenager, I began attending Calvary Chapel and what was mostly head knowledge about God, traveled to my heart & I was captivated by Christ. “On fire” as they say.
When I was just 17 years old, Dave Bean walked into the record shop where I worked & for me it was love at first sight. It took him a little longer to realize the feeling was mutual:)
We married 3 years later and have had quite the adventurous life ever since. It’s never a dull moment being married to Dave! We have 2 stellar sons & one silly chihuahua.
These days I enjoy painting, photography & am always dabbling in new artistic adventures. I’m crazy about my family & friendships.
God has been so gracious & good to me. I’m one thankful Bean!

About Dave
My life confirms the age-old adage “truth is stranger than fiction.” As a child I lived on hippie communes in upstate NY and NH with no neighbors for miles, tiny apartments in Boston, the beach as my backyard and everything in between. By the age of 21 I had lived in 25 different towns and cities. I went to 6 different high schools and was a punk rock teen in South Florida.
I credit my less than normal life experiences for how I view the world and get along with any and everyone.
When I was 10 years old I had a life changing moment at a Christian camp where I metaphorically “shook hands with God” and He introduced Himself to me. That moment faded away and for the next 11 years I ran from Him and lived only for myself, until at the age of 21 when I threw my hands in the air and said “You win, I give up, I’m yours.”
Shortly after that I met Samantha and we became friends. As a still-somewhat messed up young man, she was a life-line when I needed it most. After being friends for six months we started dating for a year and a half, and then were engaged for another year and a half.
It’s been 30 years now and I’m still just as thankful for God’s gift of her to me.
From 1999 to the present I’ve been self-employed. First as a graphic designer for the first 5 years and now as an advertising photographer. I’ve also just taken a position as a community pastor at my church. I deeply love The Lord and I want my life to glorify Him and serve Him however I can using the talents He’s given me.
If I was writing a personal ad about myself I’d say I’m into: hot chicken, German cars and the beach. I’m also a big health and fitness nut; I’m at the gym every other day lifting weights. It’s my “me time” and I find it very therapeutic.
Besides photography I’m also currently painting, writing a young adult novel and making music.
